Abstract: In modern lifestyles, people are affected by shifts, light pollution, lack of sleep and irregular mealtimes, causing chronic dissynchronization between internal clocks and the environment, which can lead to disrupted circadian rhythms. When circadian rhythms are disrupted or maladjusted, they can have adverse health consequences and increase the risk of diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease or metabolic disorders. In recent years, a wide range of animal models of circadian rhythm disorders have been established by means of core gene knockout, chemical induction, physical and dietary intervention, etc. In this paper, we summarized the commonly used animal models of circadian rhythm disorders, and briefly summarized the pathogenesis of circadian rhythm disorders.
